Al Jazeera, by the way, is far more fair and balanced that Faux News would be if Faux and all its news readers and bloviators offed themselves.

Whenever the unnamed sources and other obfuscatory spokesandroids begin disputing hard evidence about anything, there's a better than 75% chance that anything I make up is closer to the truth than the official story. In this case, I suggest a negotiated settlement between Karl Rove and the Taliban that let the U.S. troops withdraw from Nuristan with minimal casualties in exchange for leaving their weapons in place.
Wouldn't be the first time the U.S. high command fucked its own troops. If there's one thing you can count on in any war, declared or not, illegal or obnoxious, new or boring, is that the people who stand to profit the most supply the weapons. Everyone else is fodder.
