It's been awhile since I extolled the virtues of our second amendment right to own, bear, and discharge firearms for the hell of it as part of the daily death count I used to post over at Today.com. I could always find a half-dozen fresh shootings involving NOMF™ heroes and the people who made them that way. If there's one thing that 9/11 changed, it's that there's no more convenient and politically expedient hero than a dead one.

If you were fortunate to be in Louisiana over the weekend, you had a chance to celebrate the Second Amendment tax-free opportunity to stock up on arms and ammo, courtesy of the signature of Republicunt Governor Bobby Bojangles Jindal.
"The Second Amendment Weekend Holiday provides a well-deserved tax break to everyday citizens of Louisiana who want to stock up before zombie flu season begins in earnest when Obama gives his propaganda in the schools speech come Tuesday," said Marion Marionette Marionneaux, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "It will save families money, boost retailers' sales and help our economy in this worldwide recession where every little bit helps, particularly as arms sales begin to ramp up to meet the demand."
Rep. Cameron Hammering Hank Henry, R-New Orleans, tried to push through a second tax-free holiday for Thanksgiving for people who wanted to give second amendment signs of their appreciation as Christmas presents, but that measure was vetoed by Jindal who mistook it for a bill designed to remove feed tubes from from several hundred Schlinderites in Slidell.

South Carolina was the first state to offer a tax break on guns in 2008, when it enacted a tax-free weekend for automatic rifles, surface to air missiles, rocket propelled grenades, and military Humvees preferred by modern hunters.
I don't know if Dennis Carter Sr. of Holden, LA, took advantage of of the tax break when he used his second amendment rights to settle a disagreement with estrangement wife Donna, his son Dennis Carter Jr., and his two-year old grandson, Masson, all of whom became heroes. Pregnant daughter-in-law Amber was gladly injured to preserve our sacred NOMF right to shoot or be a target. She later gave birth to a premature child of the right to bear arms.
Carter himself later used his second amendment rights to terminate himself with benign indifference when police tried to pull him him about a half hour later.
What a weekend.
