Our favorite wingnut retro-opinion leader Sairhead Sirhan Palin is in the news again for her Shakespearian invention of refudiate, a word that teabaggers can use to describe themselves without resorting to refuseniking or repudiationing, which seem too communist or socialist for their utter disdain of rational thought.
Because time is meant to be wasted, I am not surprised that searches for refudiate top the list at Mirriam-Webster’s online dictionary. I particularly enjoyed these paragraphs in the AP article posted for the Yahoos of this Intertube of disinformation and bad taste.
"I think people immediately knew what she was trying to say because the words 'refute' and 'repudiate' were also being looked up very, very frequently," said John Morse, Merriam-Webster's president and publisher.
"It's an interesting blend, but no, 'refudiate' is not a real word," he said.
He makes it sound almost as if he thinks Palin and her retarded buddies are real people.
